Banu Sulaym
The Banu Sulaym were an Arab tribe of the Hejaz who, together with the Banu Hilal, migrated from Upper Egypt into North Africa in the 11th century, encouraged by the Fatimids to punish the rebellious Zirids. Settling mainly in Cyrenaica, Tripolitania and southern Ifriqiya, they fought as allies and rivals of the region's rulers, including the Banu Ghaniya, and spread Arabic speech and Bedouin ways of life across the steppe.
