Batangas
Batangas is a province of the Philippines in southern Luzon, south of Manila, with its capital at Batangas City and Taal Volcano within its borders. Its people took a prominent part in the Philippine Revolution against Spain and in resistance to American rule during the Philippine–American War. In 1901–1902 US forces under General J. Franklin Bell used harsh reconcentration measures there to cut the guerrillas off from support.
