Battle of Chikhori (1757)
The Battle of Chikhori was fought in 1757 in western Georgia, where King Solomon I of Imereti defeated an Ottoman army supporting his rebellious nobles. The victory strengthened his hold on the kingdom against Ottoman-backed rivals, and he went on to ban the slave trade from Imereti, which had long supplied the Ottoman market with captives.
