Battle of Der
The Battle of Der was fought in 721 BCE near the city of Der in eastern Mesopotamia between the Assyrian king Sargon II and the Elamite king, allied with the Babylonian ruler Merodach-baladan. Assyrian and Babylonian sources give conflicting claims of victory, but the Elamites appear to have checked the Assyrian advance. It showed Elam's role in resisting Assyria.
