Battle of Maclodio

1427 · 15th century · Part of the Wars in Lombardy

The Battle of Maclodio was fought in October 1427 near Brescia between the Venetian army under Francesco Bussone da Carmagnola and the forces of Filippo Maria Visconti, duke of Milan. Carmagnola, formerly Milan's leading captain, drew the Milanese into marshy ground and won a complete victory. The peace of 1428 confirmed Venetian possession of Brescia and added Bergamo.
