Adda (river)
The Adda is a river of northern Italy, about 313 km long, which rises in the Alps, flows through the Valtellina and Lake Como and joins the Po near Cremona. From the fifteenth century it marked much of the frontier between the Duchy of Milan and the mainland territories of Venice. Napoleon Bonaparte won the Battle of Lodi at its bridge in 1796.
