Lake Como
Lake Como is a glacial lake in Lombardy, northern Italy, shaped like an inverted Y and fed and drained by the Adda river. One of the deepest lakes in Europe, it lies on routes from Milan to the Alpine passes, which gave the city of Como at its southern tip strategic importance. Its shores are known for villas built from the Renaissance onwards.
