Ten Years' War (1118–1127)
The Ten Years' War of 1118–1127 was a conflict between the Italian communes of Milan and Como, sparked by a dispute over the bishopric of Como and control of trade on Lake Como. Milan, supported by allied towns, besieged Como and destroyed it in 1127. Como's later alliance with Frederick Barbarossa against Milan grew out of this defeat.
