Tenagino Probus was the Roman prefect of Egypt in 270. When Zenobia of Palmyra sent her general Zabdas into Egypt, Probus, returning from operations against pirates, fought the Palmyrenes and at first drove them back, but was defeated near Babylon (Old Cairo) and took his own life, leaving Egypt in Palmyrene hands until 272.
