Battle of Nedao

454 · 5th century

The Battle of Nedao was fought in 454 in Pannonia between the sons of Attila and a coalition of their former subject peoples led by the Gepid king Ardaric. The rebels won, and Attila's eldest son Ellac was killed. The battle ended Hun domination in central Europe and let the Gepids, Ostrogoths and others form their own kingdoms.
