Ellac

d. 454 · 5th century

Ellac was the eldest son of Attila. Around 448 Attila made him king over the Akatziri, a people north of the Black Sea. After Attila's death in 453 his sons quarrelled over the inheritance, and their subject peoples, led by Ardaric of the Gepids, rose in revolt. Ellac was killed at the Battle of Nedao in 454, and Hunnic power in Europe collapsed.
