Battle of Udgir

1760 · 18th century

The Battle of Udgir was fought in early 1760 in the Deccan between the Marathas under Sadashivrao Bhau and the army of the Nizam of Hyderabad. The Marathas won decisively, and the Nizam ceded large territories, including Ahmednagar, Daulatabad and Bijapur. It was the high point of Maratha power before their defeat at Panipat a year later.
