Daulatabad
Daulatabad is a historic fortress city in the Deccan region of western India. In 1327 Muhammad bin Tughlaq of the Delhi Sultanate ordered the capital moved there from Delhi, intending to improve control of the southern provinces. The forced relocation proved disastrous, damaging northern administration and hastening provincial rebellion, and the court soon returned to Delhi.
