Beatrice of Provence

c. 1229–1267 · 13th century

Beatrice of Provence was countess of Provence and Forcalquier from 1245, the youngest daughter of Count Ramon Berenguer IV; her three sisters married the kings of France and England and Richard of Cornwall. Her marriage in 1246 to Charles of Anjou, brother of Louis IX, brought Provence to the Angevins, and she was crowned queen of Sicily with him in 1266.
