Joanna I of Naples
Joanna I was queen of Naples and countess of Provence from 1343 to 1382. Her reign was troubled by the murder of her first husband and wars with Hungary. She sold Avignon to the papacy in 1348 and her rights over Prato to Florence in 1351. Having adopted Louis I of Anjou as heir, she was deposed and murdered by her cousin Charles of Durazzo.
