Bonn

Bonn is a city on the Rhine in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, south of Cologne. Founded as a Roman legionary fortress, it became the residence of the archbishop-electors of Cologne from the late 13th century, and Beethoven was born there in 1770. From 1949 to 1990 it was the seat of government of West Germany, and it kept several federal ministries after Berlin became the capital.
