Bukoba

Bukoba is a town on the western shore of Lake Victoria in north-western Tanzania and the capital of Kagera Region. Founded as a German military post in 1890 among the Haya kingdoms, it became an administrative centre under German and British rule and a port for lake steamers and coffee exports. Uganda's invasion of the surrounding region in 1978 began the Uganda–Tanzania War.
