Camerino
Camerino is a hill town in the Marche region of central Italy, in the province of Macerata. From the thirteenth century until 1539 it was ruled by the Varano family, who made it a small Renaissance court, and it then returned to the Papal States. Its university, founded in 1336, is one of the oldest in Italy. The town was badly damaged by earthquakes in 1997 and 2016.
