Camulogenus

d. 52 BCE · 1st century BCE

Camulogenus was an elderly leader of the Aulerci in Gaul who commanded the Gallic forces around Lutetia during the revolt of Vercingetorix in 52 BCE. Facing Caesar's legate Titus Labienus, he burned Lutetia and its bridges and held the marshes along the Seine. Labienus outmanoeuvred him, and Camulogenus was killed in the battle that followed. Caesar's Gallic War is the main source.
