Cangas de Onís
Cangas de Onís is a town in eastern Asturias, northern Spain, at the foot of the Picos de Europa. Tradition makes it the first seat of the Kingdom of Asturias, founded by Pelagius after his victory over a Muslim force at nearby Covadonga around 722, and the kings resided there until the court moved to Pravia and later Oviedo. Its chapel of Santa Cruz stands on the site of one built by Pelagius's son Favila.
