Cantabria
Cantabria is an autonomous community and historic region of northern Spain, on the Bay of Biscay between Asturias and the Basque Country, with its capital at Santander. Its name comes from the Cantabri, the Iron Age people whom Rome subdued in the Cantabrian Wars of 29–19 BCE. In the early Middle Ages it formed part of the Kingdom of Asturias and later of Castile.
