Cenad
Cenad is a village in Timiș county, western Romania, on the Mureș river near the Hungarian border. As Morisena it was the seat of the local ruler Ahtum around 1000; after his defeat by King Stephen I of Hungary it took the name Csanád from the victorious commander and in 1030 became the seat of a bishopric under Saint Gerard. Little remains of its medieval cathedral.
