Chakrulo

Also known as ჩაკრულო, Chak'rulo

"Chakrulo" is a Georgian polyphonic choral folk song from the region of Kakheti. It is sung in three parts and dramatises the preparations for a battle. Two highly ornamented solo voices sing over a choral foundation. In 1977 it was one of the 27 pieces of music on the Voyager Golden Records, sent into space aboard Voyager 2 on 20 August 1977 and Voyager 1 on 5 September 1977.
