Chuuk
Chuuk is a state of the Federated States of Micronesia, centred on Chuuk Lagoon in the Caroline Islands. As Truk it was Japan's main naval base in the central Pacific during the Second World War, and American air raids in February 1944 sank dozens of ships there. Nauruans deported by the Japanese were held on its islands, where many died.
