Cinyps

Also known as Wadi Caam, Wadi Ka'am

The Cinyps was a river of ancient Libya, now the Wadi Caam (Wadi Ka'am), which reaches the Mediterranean east of Leptis Magna. Herodotus describes the fertile land along it, then held by the Macae. Around 515 BCE the Spartan prince Dorieus founded a colony at its mouth, but the Carthaginians and Libyans drove him out in its third year.
