Confederación Nacional del Trabajo

1910– · 20th century · Also known as National Confederation of Labour

The Confederación Nacional del Trabajo (CNT) is a Spanish anarcho-syndicalist trade union federation founded in Barcelona in 1910. By the 1930s it had well over a million members, and after the military rising of July 1936 its militias and collectives drove a social revolution in Catalonia and Aragon. It was banned under Franco and re-formed after his death.
