Congreve rocket

Also known as Congreve rockets

The Congreve rocket was a British military rocket developed by William Congreve in the early nineteenth century, based on rockets used in Mysore. It was inaccurate but had a strong psychological effect. A British-led coalition used Congreve rockets to defeat the Ashanti Empire's army at the Battle of Katamansu in 1826.
