Connecticut
Connecticut is a state in the New England region of the north-eastern United States, named after the Connecticut River. Its lands were home to Algonquian peoples such as the Pequot, Mohegan and Niantic before English colonists founded settlements in the 1630s, and the colonies of Connecticut and New Haven united in 1665. One of the original thirteen states, it ratified the US Constitution in 1788.
