Connachta
The Connachta were a group of early Irish dynasties who claimed descent from the legendary king Conn of the Hundred Battles and gave their name to the province of Connacht. Their main branches, the Uí Briúin, Uí Fiachrach and Uí Ailello, ruled the province, and the O'Connor kings of Connacht, who rose from the Uí Briúin, became high kings of Ireland in the 12th century.
