Uí Fiachrach
The Uí Fiachrach were a dynastic group of early medieval Connacht, claiming descent from Fiachrae, son of the legendary king Eochaid Mugmedón. Their branches held lands in the north and west of the province, in later Mayo and Sligo, and in south Galway, and they supplied kings of Connacht until the 8th century, when the related Uí Briúin overtook them.
