Ruaidri Ua Conchobair
Ruaidri Ua Conchobair was king of Connacht and the last high king of Ireland, recognised from 1166. The Anglo-Norman invasion that followed undermined his position, and by the Treaty of Windsor in 1175 he accepted Henry II's overlordship. He later retired to the abbey of Cong, where he died.
