County Sligo

County Sligo is a county in the province of Connacht in north-west Ireland, on the Atlantic coast, with the town of Sligo as its county seat. It is rich in prehistoric monuments, such as the Carrowmore and Carrowkeel tombs, and in the Middle Ages it was ruled largely by the O'Connor Sligo. Its landscape is closely associated with the poet W. B. Yeats.
