Cuneglasus

6th century · 6th century · Also known as Cynlas Goch

Cuneglasus was a 6th-century British king denounced by Gildas in his De Excidio Britanniae, who called him the charioteer of the Bear's Stronghold and accused him of making war on his countrymen and on God. He is often identified with Cynlas Goch, a ruler of Rhos in north Wales named in medieval Welsh genealogies as a descendant of Cunedda. His stronghold is sometimes placed at the hillfort of Bryn Euryn near Colwyn Bay.
