Czech Silesia
Czech Silesia is the part of the historical region of Silesia that lies in the Czech Republic, around Opava and Ostrava. It descends from the small part of Silesia that the Habsburgs kept after Prussia conquered most of the region in 1742, ruled as Austrian Silesia until 1918. In 1928 it was merged with Moravia into the Moravian-Silesian Land.
