Decimal system (Mongol army)
The decimal system of the Mongol army organised troops into units of ten (arban), a hundred (jaghun), a thousand (mingghan) and ten thousand (tumen). Under Genghis Khan these units were deliberately mixed across tribal lines, breaking old loyalties and binding soldiers to the Mongol Empire's leadership. The structure gave the Mongol army exceptional discipline and coordination.
