Dharmashastra
Dharmashastra is the body of Sanskrit treatises on dharma, the religious and legal duties of Hindus, of which the Laws of Manu is the best known. They cover the duties of kings and castes, family law, inheritance and penance. Adapted versions shaped law in Southeast Asia, including the Thai and Burmese legal codes, and British courts in India applied them as Hindu law.
