Phitsanulok

Phitsanulok is a city on the Nan river in the lower north of Thailand. Under the later Sukhothai kings it became their main seat, and King Borommatrailokkanat of Ayutthaya ruled from it from 1463 to 1488 to direct the wars with Lan Na. Its temple Wat Phra Si Rattana Mahathat houses the revered Phra Phuttha Chinnarat image, and it is the birthplace of King Naresuan.
