Phra Phuttha Chinnarat

14th century · 14th century · Also known as Phra Buddha Chinnarat

Phra Phuttha Chinnarat is a gilded bronze seated Buddha image in Wat Phra Si Rattana Mahathat in Phitsanulok, Thailand, cast in the late Sukhothai style, probably in the fourteenth century. With its flame-shaped halo it is regarded as one of the most beautiful Buddha images in Thailand, and it served as a model for later images, including a copy at Wat Benchamabophit in Bangkok.
