Dido
Dido, also called Elissa, was the legendary queen from Tyre who is said to have founded Carthage. According to tradition, she fled her brother Pygmalion and established the city on the North African coast. Her story became the foundation legend of Carthage and the Punic Empire, and was later retold in Virgil's Aeneid.
