Iarbas

Iarbas was a legendary Berber king in North Africa associated with the founding of Carthage. In the tradition, Elissa, known as Dido, negotiated with him for as much land as an ox-hide could cover and cut the hide into strips to encircle the hill of Byrsa. The story forms part of the foundation legend of the Punic Empire.
