Diet of Schwäbisch Hall

1190 · 12th century

The Diet of Schwäbisch Hall was an imperial assembly held in 1190 at Schwäbisch Hall in Swabia under King Henry VI. It ruled that the ducal authority of Henry I of Louvain applied only to his own lands, reducing the old duchy of Lower Lotharingia to a title. His territories around Brussels and Leuven thus became the Duchy of Brabant.
