Diois
The Diois is a mountainous district in the Drôme department of south-eastern France, around the town of Die in the Drôme valley. In the Middle Ages it was a county disputed between the bishops of Die and the Poitiers counts of Valentinois, who joined it to their lands as the county of Valentinois and Diois. The area is known for its sparkling wine, Clairette de Die.
