Djurdjura
The Djurdjura is a mountain range of the Tell Atlas in northern Algeria, rising to 2,308 m at Lalla Khedidja and forming the backbone of Greater Kabylia. Its villages were the base of the Kabyle kingdom of Kuku in the 16th and 17th centuries and long resisted outside rule, until the French conquered the region in 1857. Part of the range is protected as Djurdjura National Park.
