Dolwyddelan Castle
Dolwyddelan Castle is a native Welsh castle in Snowdonia, built in the early 13th century by Llywelyn the Great to guard a route through the mountains of Gwynedd. Its stone keep is typical of the castles of the Welsh princes. Edward I's forces captured it in 1283 during the final conquest of Wales.
