Draa River

Also known as Wadi Draa, Oued Draa

The Draa is the longest river of Morocco, rising in the High Atlas and flowing south-east and then west to the Atlantic, though its lower course is usually dry. Its middle valley is a long chain of palm oases and fortified villages on the edge of the Sahara. The Saadi family, who ruled Morocco in the 16th and 17th centuries, came from this valley.
