Elazığ
Elazığ is a city in eastern Anatolia, Turkey, on a plain east of the Euphrates. It was founded in the 19th century below the old fortress town of Harput and named Mamuret-ul-Aziz after Sultan Abdulaziz. In ancient times its plain was the heart of the kingdom of Isuwa and later of Sophene, and many sites were excavated before the Keban Dam flooded part of it.
