Emilia
Emilia is a historic region of northern Italy between the Po and the Apennines, named after the Roman road, the Via Aemilia, that crosses it. Its cities include Parma, Piacenza, Modena and Reggio. In 1859–1860 the duchies of Modena and Parma and the papal Romagna were briefly united as Emilia before joining the Kingdom of Sardinia, and the region now forms part of Emilia-Romagna.
