Eros
Eros was the Greek god of love and desire, in early myth a primeval force and later the son of Aphrodite, shown as a winged youth with bow and arrows. The Boeotian city of Thespiae was his chief cult centre, with a famous statue by Praxiteles and a festival, the Erotidia. The Romans knew him as Cupid or Amor.
