Erzberg

Also known as Styrian Erzberg

The Erzberg is a mountain near Eisenerz in Styria, Austria, made largely of siderite iron ore and mined since at least the Middle Ages. Open-cast mining has cut it into giant terraces, giving it the look of a stepped pyramid. Its iron made Styria one of Europe's main iron-producing regions, and it is still worked today.
