Esagila

The Esagila was the great temple of Marduk in Babylon, the most important sanctuary of the city. The rulers of the Chaldean Empire, especially Nebuchadnezzar II, lavishly restored it, together with the nearby ziggurat Etemenanki, as part of their rebuilding of Babylon.
